Tornos achieves further increase in sales and stabilizes order intake at a high level
Ad hoc announcement pursuant to Art. 53 LR:
The Tornos Group continued to develop positively in the 2022 financial year. Net sales grew by 5.8% year-on-year from CHF 171.5 million to CHF 181.4 million. Tornos was able to stabilize order intake at a high level of CHF 194.1 million (previous year: CHF 204.6 million). At CHF 68.4 million, the order backlog at the end of 2022 is again significantly higher than the corresponding figure for the previous year (end of 2021: CHF 59.3 million).
Tornos continued to be very successful last year in its largest sales market, medical and dental technology. The Group also made substantial gains in the watchmaking and aerospace industries as well as in the service and spare parts business. Orders from the automotive industry weigh significantly less in the balance than in previous years.
Based on the pleasing sales development, Tornos expects EBIT and net result to be clearly positive in the second half of 2022 following a successful first half. This is despite the fact that the Group was confronted in part with significant cost increases.
Tornos will announce the detailed 2022 figures for the Group at its media and analysts' conference on March 6, 2023.
