Tornos achieves another significant increase in order intake and sales
- Order backlog at an all-time high
- All product lines performed well
- Significantly higher sales in service and used machinery business
The Tornos Group has continued its positive business performance from the previous year, increasing order intake and sales again considerably in the 2018 financial year. Net sales amount to CHF 214.9 million, which is 20.2% above the previous year’s result of CHF 178.8 million. At CHF 245.0, order intake is 18.4% higher than the corresponding prior-year figure of CHF 207.0 million. Tornos achieved a record order backlog at the end of 2018 with an increase of 59% to CHF 101.0 million. This represents orders for more than six months.
All product lines contributed to the Tornos Group's sales growth in the 2018 financial year. Tornos was also able to significantly increase sales in the area of services, helped by the good spare parts business as well as the increasingly successful used machinery business.
The Tornos Group is expecting a clear improvement in the 2018 financial statements in terms of both operating result (EBIT) and net result compared with 2017.
Details of the Group’s results for 2018 including a proposal on dividends will be announced at the media and analysts’ conference in Zurich on March 11, 2019.
